There was also another increase to the numbers of T.F.J. when Neil Atkinson was accepted as a joining member.

WM Bill Joughin retained his place in the Master’s chair to undertake the ceremony for Paul. The lecture of the degree was undertaken by John Bicknell.

The degree of Knight of Constantinople was then worked  with Dave Sear in the position of Illustrious Potentate. Eddie Crosby was called upon to orate the lecture of the degree.

Afterwards a lunch of pie and peas followed by cheese and biscuits was enjoyed.

David Smith, the secretary of T.F.J. had appeared before the meeting to set things up and then went off for another important appointment.

However, he was able to return in time for the meal and propose the toast to the health of Paul who was not only a candidate he had proposed for membership but also his son-in-law.

It was the start of a busy day for many of those in attendance with some going to Barrow for Baldwin Lodge installation and others making the trip to Morecambe for Heysham Lodge installation.
