A Trip to Botley
 
On Saturday, 26th October W.Bro. Anthony James Green was to be Installed as the District Grand Prefect for Southern Counties.
All set!
Tony as he is known arrived early to welcome Brethren of the District of Southern Counties and many guests who had travelled to Botley.

Amongst those guests were three Brethren from West Lancashire, who had travelled down the day before.
 
Following a good night’s sleep, on arrival at  Brook House Masonic Centre, Botley they were able to meet friends and share a welcome cup of tea together with what is becoming a ritual for these gatherings  "a tasty Bacon Barmcake".
Alan Comber Grand Standard Bearer
One of the members from West Lancashire, had on arrival, a pleasant surprise, Alan Comber was invited to act as Grand Standard Bearer for the meeting.

Shortly after 11.00am the meeting was opened by Richard Dunleavey the Presiding Officer,  following this the Grand Master entered in procession to undertake the Ceremony of Installing W.Bro. Anthony (Tony) James Green as District Grand Prefect for Southern Counties.
 
On being Installed as District Grand Prefect for Southern Counties then appointed V.W.Bro. Laurence Thomas Brookes as his Deputy.

Following the Installation Meeting, guests were invited to pre lunch drinks before being treated to a three course Banquet.

After the meeting the three intrepid travellers set of to return home, unsurprisingly they were joined by someone else travelling back to Chorley, taking this member under their wing the set off for the protracted journey home.

The group arrived home around 21:45, although a long day it had been a thoroughly enjoyable occasion.
