A Lively Night Over the Sands
On the Third Friday in June which was a change from the usual date over thirty Allied Masons met at the Masonic Hall in sleepy Grange over Sands.
Such is the camaraderie in the Allied Degrees that amongst the many guests were Lawrence Hinde District Grand Prefect Cumberland & Westmorland and four other members from Cumberland & Westmorland.

After the meeting was opened by the Master, Chris Butterfield then welcomed the District Grand Prefect Paul Snape as the official Representative of the District, although Paul is a member of the Council.

The next business was the admission, of Jim Richards into the Degree of St. Lawrence the Martyr, the ceremony was carried in an first-rate manner by Bill Byrne, the Lecture was presented by Eddie Crosby.

The next business was to Install as Master Bro. David Sear, the Ceremony of Installation was carried out excellently by the Installing Master Chris Butterfield.

Following the Installation, the District Grand Prefect congratulated W.Bro. David Sear on becoming Master of Thomas Firth Jackson Council, wishing him well for the future.

He also commented on the high standard of Ritual worked in the Installation Ceremony and thanked Chris Butterfield for the stewardship of the Council over the past year.
In reply David Sear thanks the District Grand Prefect for his generous comments inviting him and all present to join him at dinner.

Finally following the meal, after closing comments by the Master, the Brethren departed Grange over Sands, all must have gone home knowing that they had been to something special.
