Council on the Fylde No.201

A welcoming cup of hot coffee welcomed us to Poulton Masonic Hall on a not to particularly warm autumnal morning. Monday morning is maybe not a good time to hold a lodge meeting but on Monday 7th October a goodly number of Allied Masons made their way to Poulton le Fylde, on the Fylde Coast, to attend the Installation meeting of Council on the Fylde. At 11.00 am the Worshipful Master Right Worshipful Brother Douglas John Forster Past Grand Junior Warden opened the Council  and dispatched the first items on the agenda.

The preliminaries over the Worshipful Master announced the next item on the agenda to Install Brother Joe O’Brien as Worshipful Master. Brother O’Brien was presented to the Worshipful Master who conducted an excellent Ceremony of Installation with his usual savoir faire. The members of the council greeted their newly installed Master in the time-honoured way and returned to their seats. The new Worshipful Master appointed and invested his officers for the ensuing year. There being no other business the Worshipful Master closed the Council.

It has become traditional for the Council on the Fylde to have a buffet lunch at its meetings and today is no exception. The toasts in the Allied Degree seem to be just the right length as do the responses and before long we were making our way homeward another satisfying day of Allied Masonry.
