Welcome to the website of the West Lancashire District
of the Order of the Allied Masonic Degrees
of England and Wales and District and Councils Overseas (“the Order”).

It is hoped that you find the information on the following pages to be instructive and useful. The Order is governed by the Grand Council, headed by the Grand Master, and administered from Mark Masons' Hall in London. Local administration is devolved to a number of Districts each of which oversees the Councils of the Order within its geographical area, and each District is headed by a District Grand Prefect, Deputy District Grand Prefect and Executive Committee.
All that seems dry and uninteresting, but as the Grand Master, Thomas Firth Jackson, emphasises whenever addressing Meetings, be it of Grand Council or a District Grand Council or an individual Council.
Meetings of this Order are intended to be happy and enjoyable occasions for persons who are genuinely interested in extending their knowledge of, and interest in, freemasonry in a wider context.
At this point can I thank all the Brethren of the District as well as the members of the District Executive Committee for the tremendous support and encouragement I have received since my Installation as District Grand Prefect.
I also anticipate enjoyable visits to other District Council Meetings, which many of you have also attended, for that support my grateful thanks.
By way of a change this year on Sunday April 7th 2019 our first Gourmet Sunday Lunch will be held at Wyrebank Garstang, and then on 27th April, I look forward to presiding at the Annual Meeting of District Grand Council which will be held at our new venue at Preston, bearing in mind that following those two events there will be a further eight months of 2019 in which to enjoy our Allied masonry and whatever it brings for each of us.
To anyone interested in joining the Order, you must already be a Craft master mason, a Royal Arch Companion, and a Mark master mason.  As mentioned above, membership of the Order is through a Council of the Order.
With my kindest regards and best wishes,
R.W. Brother, Paul Snape
District Grand Prefect
